Cold Weather Clothing...

It's been incredibly cold lately - weather no warmer than 10 degrees and by the time the sun sets it can reach bone chilling below zeros. Seeing the following imaginary outfit by Even Cleveland would make this weather way more bearable if only it were really mine. That sweater? The coat and boots, and oh, that great purse. Seriously be mine!

My friend Judy sent me a link to this great blog. It's the work of a watercolour artist who also dabbles in rubber stamps. She freelances for the most part and also has a great etsy shop where she sells some of her work. I was able to find a small blurb about her on Urban Outfitters under a print she had made for them:

"Living 9842 feet above sea level in a forest near Mexico City, Geninne Zlatkis draws inspiration from the nature and animals around her. One of the happiest artists around, Geninne's uplifting images are finished with a very pleasant and welcoming twist."

Seriously inspiring, and all this from a mother of two to boot.

Remember 8 years ago, when I was graduating from high school and you in all your kindness and enthusiasm put together an inspiration board about what might look good on my awkward self for graduation ball. I had made a fleeting comment on how it was hard to find anything remotely interesting to wear and a few days later, I received a little something in an email. Well, dear Emily, here are yours. It's not much - I already know you will make for an exceptionally styling mum-to-be but it’s my little contribution for my far-away friend.

I know you will flourish as a mom. You are wonderful woman, friend, being. You’ll give that gorgeous baby plenty of roots to ground him, wings to see him thrive, and you’ll pass on all of that wonderful stuff that is Emily.
